Retirement Program

Bryant Contributions to the Plan (Non-Elective Contributions)

Bryant University employees who are scheduled to work more than 1,000 hours in a calendar year are eligible to participate in the University’s 403(b) retirement plan. Eligibility for employer contributions begins after two full years of continuous service at Bryant. This waiting period may be waived if the employee has satisfied a comparable eligibility requirement at another higher education institution within the previous ten (10) years, subject to submission and approval of a waiver form.

Investment options are available through Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association (TIAA) and Fidelity Investments.

There is no contribution required of employees. The University’s current annual contribution is eight percent (8%) of the first $58,800 of an eligible employee’s base annual salary and twelve percent (12%) on the employee’s base annual salary that exceeds the breakpoint of $58,800, in a calendar year. The University reserves the right to adjust the breakpoint.

Employee Contributions (Elective Contributions)

Employees are eligible to make their own voluntary contributions to the University’s 403(b) retirement plan upon hire. Contributions may be made on a pre-tax basis or as Roth (after-tax) contributions, subject to annual limits established by the Internal Revenue Service
