Bereavement

Bryant University will grant up to a maximum of three (3) days with pay if there is a death of an employee’s family member. For the purposes of this benefit, “family member” is understood to include: 

• parents 
• stepparents 
• children 
• stepchildren 
• spouse 
• domestic partner or spousal equivalent 
• grandparents 
• grandchildren 
• mother-in-law 
• father-in-law 
• siblings 
• care recipient or another member of your household. 

With the consent of the University, an employee’s leave may be extended for an additional two days without pay. 

Employees may also take one (1) day with pay to attend the funeral of other close relatives.
